Noor Ethnic Wear ("we", "us") sells designer ethnic wear through noorethnicwear.in. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written to align with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules, 2011.
1. Data we collect
- Order data — name, delivery address, pincode, mobile number, email, and the items you ordered.
- Payment data — payment status and the reference number returned by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number, UPI PIN or CVV; those are handled by the payment gateway.
- Support data — messages you send us on WhatsApp, email or the contact form.
- Usage data — pages viewed, device type and approximate city, collected through privacy-friendly analytics.
- Cart data — stored in your browser (localStorage) so your cart survives a refresh.
2. Why we use it
We use your data to accept and deliver orders, send order updates, handle returns, prevent fraud, meet tax and accounting obligations, and improve the store. We send marketing messages only if you opt in, and every message includes a way to opt out.
3. Consent and notice
We ask for your consent before collecting data for a new purpose. You can withdraw consent at any time by messaging us on WhatsApp ; withdrawal does not affect orders already placed or records we must keep by law.
4. Sharing
We share the minimum data needed with:
- Courier partners — name, address and phone, to deliver your order.
- Payment provider — order amount and reference, to collect payment and process refunds.
- Communication providers — phone and email, to send order updates.
- Government or courts — where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Retention
Order and tax records are kept for 8 years as required by GST law. Support conversations are kept for 2 years. Marketing consent records are kept until you withdraw consent. Analytics data is retained in aggregate.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or erase your personal data, or to withdraw consent. Message us on WhatsApp with your order number; we reply within 30 days. You can also nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Security
Data is transported over HTTPS, access is limited to staff who need it, admin access is password protected, and passwords are stored as hashes. We keep audit logs of admin changes to orders and catalogue.
8. Children
Our store is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you believe a child has shared data with us, write to us and we will delete it.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies for the cart and checkout, and optional analytics cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but checkout may not work without the essential ones.
